I've heard the same thing that Vindictive_Pat stated. But it's hard for me to be concerned about Noel's injuries because I feel that there were a number of players that had bad injury histories in college and high school, but had virtually no injuries at the NBA level. I wish there was a webpage that keeps track of a player's injury history throughout the entire time that said player played basketball to prove my theory though.

In terms of worrying about Noel's other issues, those are non-issues to me. The real question that need to be asked, is if Noel is WILLING to improve on his offense and add more muscle to his body. If his answer is "no", THEN I'll worry.

I have no desire to have him step down, happy to let the system do its thing. I certainly won't assume it's a witch hunt just because he owns the Browns. The feds know Haslam has more juice than most to fight back, and because of that I tend to assume they really made sure their ducks were lined up before the indictments came down. But we'll see if it sticks.

Bottom line: You and I don't know who the "worst offenders" are yet. No one should make early assumptions.

I agree. At least this isn't the same situation as the city of Charlotte is in with Panthers owner Jerry Richardson. Begged for nearly $100 million to help on the stadium, even though leaked tax returns showed the team has been doing quite financially well in recent years. On top of that, as soon as the vote passed for the funding, Richardson gave $10 million to UNC-Charlotte to have the stadium named after himself.

tl;dr as long as the money's coming out of the team's pockets, I don't care what they do to the stadium

my twitter feed has had quite a few predictions that he will step down or the nfl will force him out and ridicule toward 'cost-plussin.' definite rushes to judgements; that's what i've seen. zero empathy either.

put it this way: has anyone (other than me) written anything that amounts to an 'exploring the other side of the story' piece?

because we know how this turns out right? jimmy h. was not in the 'teaching people how to de-fraud customers' breakout session and thus will not face any charges.

No idea if it happens, but Len definitely has that potential to be the next Big Z. Very similar size and skill set to what Z had when he was drafted.

Chiz actually has a pretty decent arm I thought. They always planned to bring him back up eventually, but I suspect you're right that they would like to give Reynolds a few more days off and take the pressure off now that Swisher is unavailable for a little while.

or it's prosecutorial witch hunting 101. i mean, right? we still don't know what axe to grind CH-2 (aka vince greco) had against PFJ. we still don't know the dollars involved. we don't know how this got to the top of the IRS/DOJ to-do list.

however what we _have_ seen are cleveland fans feigning outrage on the PFJ crimes and the corrupt 'culture' there. welp.. here's the criminals. these are the poster children of PFJ fraud. shouldn't we be throwing the book at them?

in short harv: i'm trying to understand the head of the fan who crows about haslam needing to step down. if that fan is truly concerned about fraud, they should be upset by these plea deals with these seeming worst offenders. but they're not.

He was never a gold glove candidate, but it definitely wasn't his defense that got him sent down. It's just been noted recently because he had a flurry of errors in Columbus recently.

LIke Jacob said, 22 K's to 3 BB's in 99 PA's was the culprit. People (not so much here, but on some other sites) have been railing about how Kipnis and Cabrera had slow starts too and that Lonnie wasn't all that terrible didn't look deep enough into the numbers past his .213/.253/.351/.604 slash line. Against lefties he was batting .091 (2 for 22) and was only getting on base 13% of the time. He was also swinging at lots of balls early in counts and the Indians really wanted him to work on that in a lower pressure situation. Hopefully the lack of plate discipline was a result of pressing and lack of focus and not just indicative of what he is.

Stop dissing Johnny Mac. At least he made contact against the closer. If Aviles did the same it would have been a tie game.

This is win-win, or at least neutral. I swear I saw Reynolds look afraid to throw from third last week. Chiz can't be much worse, and Reynolds can maybe relax and re-heat. Swisher's defense has been spotty. There's potential to add a productive bat at the bottom of the line-up and the defense can't get much worse. If Chiz stays hot they can DL Swish and bring him back healthy after the All-Star break.

Maybe this is the reason UFC isn't that popular. When someone who looks like he spends more time downing family buckets of KFC than training can be ranked that high, sounds to me like the sport has issues overall. I'm not knocking the Cleveland kid, but consider me unimpressed.

I am fascinated by anyone who seriously takes this with a snarky attitude. There's nothing wrong with improving the stadium. Well, at least until they come to the city with their hands out. Until then though, I'll just say this is a good thing and much needed.

Not sure what you mean, Jim. This is prosecutorial big game hunting 101, peeling off the outer layers, moving steadily up the organizational chart and squeezing cajones to extract the testimony against the next highest level, high as they can go until the testimony against superiors ain't there or the terms of the plea deal offers are so onerous they aren't accepted.

So are you suggesting they should seek max sentences against all employees, thereby not gaining cooperation, and risk having the top people who may have set the fraudulent company policy walk? They're hunting for the head of the beast. It can backfire it Haslam has plausible deniability, but this a very effective way to get underlings to talk and is standard stuff, hardly outrageous if Haslam did it.

They could easily spend $200M upgrading that cookie cutter stadium. The NFL got Cleveland twice in that whole expansion deal.
